I had to take a long time today to calm myself down to even share my experience with this OBGYN. For starters, I've been a patient here for 8 years. They have one woman in particular at the front desk that is just over the top phenomenal. I can't get over how well she knows and cares for her people. It is amazing the work she does. Now. Moving on to my actual experience with my care provider... During my first pregnancy, I really had no issues. Nothing to the negative aspect to bring to the table for true assistance, because I was healthy... How did this change? Beyond pregnancy care, I have been very dissatisfied with the care of my provider in this office. I've had some issues over the years that have, at least in my opinion, not been addressed to the fullest. My husband has made the comment that whenever Presbyterian was bought out by Novant, they no longer had the exclusivity to be selective with their clients. At this point they're attention to detail and actual person care has severally decline. I write this because today, and for the first time in my life, I literally walked out of their office, and I don't ever plan to return after how I was treated. A month ago in April, I had a rather urgent need to be seen by my physician. Upon calling, I made an appointment 3 weeks out, which was today. I had 2 separate appointments based off my needs and I came in 30 minutes early, along with my husband. As I said, I had some pretty large issues that needed addressed. My first appointment was on time. The technician was polite, caring. I exited back into the waiting room for my following appt. My appointment comes, goes. No one speaks to myself or my husband... It's now 30 minutes after my 2nd appointment. Knowing my situation, my husband asks "how much longer?" About 15 minutes later I am called back by my nurse Donna. I really like her. No issues. I was there when she started work here and she's always been personable and kind. Once in the room, she asked her questions. I disrobe, etc. I can hear her walk out and speak to my Dr. He's literally 2 feet from my door... By a few of Donna's questions I kind of get the idea that my appointment wasn't set for the reason I need it so I wanted to to ask her. My husband calls her in and we talk for a second, in which point she tells me my physician has just left to assist someone elsewhere. Mind you, he was just at the door. By the end of our conversation, Donna tells me not only has he left, but he's put one other appointment ahead of mine due to the nature of the appointment. Where does that leave me? I waited 3 weeks for an appointment... They forgot about me, I had to remind them I was there. Then the Dr leaves and places someone's appointment in front of mine. All of this, dismissing that no one bothered to speak to me and just say "hey, let me fill you in to where we are.". Or "I apologise for the wait, we had a mix up." No one was willing to tell me that my Dr had forgot about me or that he had unfairly set me to the end of the line based on his interpretation of "my needs." I've never been so upset in my entire adult life. I left crying. My husband agreed we are finished with Southeast OBGYN. It's is in my opinion, unless you are currently expecting- your continued care needs will not be met urgently. At least this is my experience. I hope someone reads this and makes a solid decision to find a provider that genuinely cares. I cannot say much for the other physicians in this office. And today when I left, I could see that it did genuinely bother Donna that I was leaving, and she wasn't happy about it. That will be my last visit to Southeast OBGYN and I will not recommend this office to anyone based on my providers care.
